It Agronomist graduated from the Federal University of Paraíba (1987 ) , M.Sc. in Plant Pathology , Federal University of Viçosa , Viçosa, MG (1994 ) and Ph.D. in Agronomy ( Plant Pathology ) by the College of Agriculture Luiz de Queiroz , University of São Paulo in 2008 . He is a researcher of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa since September 1989 , having worked at Embrapa Western Amazon , Manaus -AM , between 1989 and 1997 , with diseases of rubber and epidemiology and control of the red ring of oil palm . Since 1997 he is researcher at Embrapa Cotton , working in the cotton breeding program for resistance to diseases in the Brazilian cerrado .This studies concentrates in the following topics : the resistance of cotton diseases , control of major diseases of cotton , chemical and cultural control , management of blue disease , seed pathology , control of major diseases of castor bean, epidemiology and control of ramulosis. Was Deputy Head of Research and Development of Embrapa Cotton from 1999 to 2003, Executive Secretary from 2003 to 2010 and current member of the Executive Committee of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Investigación y Desarrollo del Algodón - ALIDA and the Executive Committee of the International Cotton Association Researchers - IRCA
